NoAd Radar is operated by Cicada Group, LLC. This policy covers the app and our website. No account is required to use the app. We do not include advertising or third-party analytics in the app, sell your location, or use notification information for advertising.

Location

With your permission, NoAd Radar uses your location to center the map and save a location for your Home Screen widget. The app does not continuously track your location in the background.

The widget requests active weather alerts for its saved coordinate from the National Weather Service. That service receives the coordinate as part of the request.

Weather notifications

If you enable weather notifications, the app sends your coordinate and a notification device token to NoAd Radar’s server. These are stored together so the server can match alerts to your location and deliver them through Apple’s push notification service.

The server also stores the device platform, notification environment, registration time, and delivery information used to avoid duplicate alerts. Notifications use the last registered location; opening the app after traveling helps keep it current.

Maps and network requests

Weather and map content comes from NoAd Radar and external providers, including the National Weather Service, OpenFreeMap, and USGS. Network requests reveal information such as your IP address and the requested map area to the services handling them. Hosting and delivery providers process these requests.

Information on your device

The app stores preferences, widget state and location, weather caches, and local radar-loading diagnostics on your device.

Your choices

You can change location and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Turning off weather notifications inside NoAd Radar requests deletion of your notification registration. An internet connection is needed for the server to receive the request. If removal fails, keep the app installed and reopen it with a connection to complete removal, or contact us for help. Disabling notifications in iOS Settings stops their display but does not itself delete your server registration. Deleting the app or clearing cached radar does not itself send a server-deletion request.

Retention and deletion

Notification registrations contain your last registered coordinate and device token. We remove them from the active notification service after 90 days without a registration update from the app, during routine cleanup. Using the app with notifications enabled may refresh the registration and restart this period. Widget checks and notification delivery do not restart it.

When the service receives a notification opt-out, it removes the registration and associated delivery records. We also remove registrations reported as invalid by the notification provider. Delivery records expire after the associated alert ends, with a short buffer to prevent repeat notifications.

The 90-day rule applies to active notification registrations, not to every category of information. Technical logs and support correspondence may be retained as needed to operate and secure the service, resolve requests, and meet legal obligations. Backup copies and records held by service providers may follow separate retention schedules; deletion from the active service does not imply immediate removal from every backup.

Service providers and security

We use hosting, network-delivery, mapping, weather, and notification providers to operate NoAd Radar. These providers process information needed for their services. Requests to our notification service use HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Contact and your requests

For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, or help withdrawing consent, email support@noadradar.com. Because we do not require accounts or store an email address with your notification registration, we may need additional information to locate the correct record and verify a request. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights concerning your information.

Policy changes

We will publish changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
